Requirements and Target Group
The Bachelor's distance learning programme in Human Resource Management at Hochschule Fresenius is aimed at individuals who aspire to a career in human resource management, personnel development, or recruiting. Which admission requirements must you meet?
Access to the distance learning course Human Resource Management, B.A. is possible via several routes:
- With Abitur: General higher education entrance qualification (Abitur) entitles you to direct enrolment.
- With Fachhochschulreife: Fachhochschulreife or subject-specific higher education entrance qualification entitles you to study according to the respective field.
- With vocational training: A completed recognised vocational training of at least 2 years plus at least 2 years of full-time work in a related field. Additionally, a subject-specific university entrance exam is required.
- With advanced training: Master craftsman’s certificate or a comparable advanced training with at least 400 teaching hours (for example, specialist business administrator or technician). Here too, a subject-specific university entrance exam is necessary.
- With secondary school leaving certificate and 3-year vocational training: Final grade 2.5 or better entitles you to a study agreement; with a lower grade, the subject-specific university entrance exam must also be taken. Furthermore, at least 18 ECTS in the 1st semester or 30 ECTS in the 1st academic year must be achieved.
Prior achievements from other courses or recognised qualifications can be credited upon application if they correspond in content and scope to the study modules.
You should have an interest in economic contexts, communication skills, and an affinity for working with people. Self-motivation and structured time management are particularly important for distance learning, as you study regardless of location and time. Experience with digital media and basic knowledge of mathematics or statistics are helpful, but not mandatory. Openness to change processes, empathy, teamwork, and analytical thinking support your study success and your future work in human resource management.

The distance learning course is designed to be flexible and can be completed in six to twelve semesters, depending on individual time planning and life situation. The standard study plan foresees six semesters with a total of 180 ECTS credits.
