Admission Requirements

Prerequisite for admission to this degree programme is a successfully completed Bachelor's degree with at least 180 ECTS points or a comparable academic qualification, such as a diploma.
Following your first degree, you must have been professionally employed for at least 1 year. The professional activity should be related to the Master's programme in Controlling and Corporate Governance.
In addition, we can also admit you if you do not have a Bachelor's or diploma degree. Provided that you have completed vocational training and have been professionally employed for at least 4 years after completing the training. The professional activity should be related to the Master's programme in Controlling and Corporate Governance. Additionally, you must provide evidence of relevant professional development and complete an aptitude test at Fresenius University.
Study contents and specializations
This part-time master's programme combines generalist and current economic topics with specialized content from the areas of controlling and business management. The programme enables students to develop a general innovation and transfer competency as well as to solve individual and complex problems in their professional environment.
The study plan includes the following modules:
- 1st semester: Operative controlling instruments, business management, research and scientific methodology, digitization of the working world, self-reflection and profile building
- 2nd semester: External financial accounting I – individual financial statements according to national and international regulations, strategic management, organizational management, leadership and personal leadership, digital entrepreneurship
- 3rd semester: External financial accounting II – group financial statements, strategic controlling instruments, corporate governance, shaping and experiencing the economy, behavior-oriented decision making
- 4th semester: Project management, leadership and motivation recognition, communication and structure in organizations, economics: current trends and applications
- 5th semester: Master's thesis

Study concept and structure
The part-time study programme at Fresenius University is a so-called hybrid study programme that combines classroom teaching with online study in an optimal way. This allows you to complete a completely flexible study programme that integrates seamlessly into your daily life, your professional life, and your family life.
The lectures generally take place on 1-3 evenings per week, usually from 6:00 pm to 9:15 pm. Additional lectures are held on 2-3 Saturdays per month, each from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.
Conveniently, you do not have to attend lectures for every module. Many lectures can also be completed online or from home. With your enrollment, you will have access to our study platform studynet. In addition, you will learn with elaborately designed study scripts, the studymags.
